- We are seeking a_ **_People & Culture Business Partner _**_focused on supporting our National Business to Consumer businesses (9 Estate Wineries, 1 Boutique Hotel & 101 The Wine Shop Retail Stores) _to join our _**_People & Culture Team _**This role will be hybrid work from home with a regular requirement to work onsite and occasional travel to British Columbia.
- Reporting into the Manager, People & Culture, The People & Culture Business Partner/Generalist will work as both a tactical and strategic partner with the P&C team and business units. This role will support Retail & Hospitality business units across the organization, along with Generalist support across the Business Partner function. Serves as primary HR resource for assigned client groups providing counsel, coaching, and leadership. Identifies and takes action to mitigate teammate HR matters through effective critical thinking, ensuring resolution. The People & Culture Business Partner provides support to peers on a variety of day to day HR functions. _
**_We are looking for a teammate with:_**
- Education: University Degree/college diploma in business with a minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience.
- Previous experience working in Retail & Hospitality preferred.
- Professional Certifications: CHRP required; CHRL an asset.
- Competent MSOffice user, experience with HRIS.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Employment Standards Acts, Human Rights Codes and related WCB/OHS regulations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence others and build cooperative relationships.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative on challenging issues and to be proactive.
- Energetic team player who thrives in a collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to critically analyze issues and provide objective options/recommendations.
- Personally aligned with APL's values and able to effectively demonstrate these values.
**_ This teammate will be accountable for:_**
- Key contributor and in some cases project lead in the design and development of BU specific and/or national HR initiatives that align with the company's corporate and HR strategies.
- Provides strategic input and support to assigned BU leaders to grow bench strength; optimize organizational design and champion change management across all levels of the organization.
- Acts as a single point of HR contact for assigned business unit managers & employees.
- Provides labour and employee relations advice and direction to mitigate and resolve HR issues or concerns.
- Supports end to end seasonal recruitment for business units including Harvest.
- Serves as primary contact for HR related provincial regulatory bodies and HR legal counsel for assigned BU's.
- Manages termination, layoff, and reorganization processes including settlement negotiations for assigned BUs.
- Serving as a trusted advisor; provides appropriate guidance to resolve complaints of harassment/discrimination, or other serious employment related allegations (including Respect in the Workplace complaints/investigations when required).
- Assists discovery and implementation of new HR modules in Dayforce HCM system.
- Partners with other People & Culture Business Partners to ensure consistency on key processes including performance management & coaching, talent engagement, employee relations processes, organizational development initiatives and recruitment & selection.
- Follows safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions to their reporting manager
