Winnipeg, Canada The Link: Youth and Family Supports Full time

**SUMMARY**: As a member of the Mobile Crisis Team and in collaboration with all components of the Youth Crisis Stabilization System, the Mobile Crisis Team Clinician provides crisis intervention services to children and youth, their families and caregivers in a professional manner. The Mobile Crisis Team Clinician assesses, plans and formulates recommendations toward the resolution of the crisis and its underlining or precipitating factors.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES **include but are not limited to:

- Answer crisis line, triage calls, conduct assessments and provide interventions both over the phone and in the community, engaging the clients’ families in the resolution process whenever possible.
- During community visits, identify potential underlying cause of crisis situation and subsequently provide on-site intervention including mental health and risk assessments, mental status exams, safety plans, and follow-up plans for youth and their families/caregivers.
- Complete required documentation, including written reports which detail the nature of the crisis and subsequent assessments and plans.
- Refer youth, families and caregiver(s) to suitable resources and advocate on their behalf if required.
- Report child protection concerns to the CFS designated intake agency.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with client(s) and families and follows all other policies and procedures.
- Provide triage and referral where appropriate.
- Provide consultation to collateral agencies such as Children’s Mental Health, Child and Family Services, schools, probations, police services, ARCC and Children's Hospital Emergency Department.
- Provide training to Practicum Students assigned to the Youth Crisis Stabilization Services (YCSS) department.
- Represent the Youth Crisis Stabilization System program both within and outside of The Link.
- Undergraduate degree in Human Services or accreditation from a governing Human Services College (e.g., Manitoba College of Social Workers); a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ work experience in a supervised clinical setting is desired.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s abstract is required as travel within and around Winnipeg is expected.
- Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C certification, or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact check and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last 3 months.
- ASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) desired.
- Certified in de-escalation techniques is desired
- Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and beliefs is considered an asset.

**SALARY RANGE**: $52,132.36 - $73,187.50

**HOURS OF WORK**: 80 hours biweekly, overnights. The schedule may include weekends and holidays.
