Blade Technician

Incorporated in 1992 and wholly owned by Albertan’s, **Alberta Environmental Rubber Products (AERP)**: is Alberta’s largest scrap tire recycling company. **AERP**: has been converting scrap tires, using cutting edge technology, into materials that are used in everything from playgrounds, roofing products and athletic tracks. Our state-of-the-art processing plant in northwest Edmonton produces a variety of high-quality rubber products from shred to rubber crumb. We have become the industry leader through proprietary production techniques, consistently high standards and stringent quality control measures. To support the on-going growth of our business, we are currently seeking a mechanically inclined **Blade Technician**: to join our Maintenance team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform equipment service, blade maintenance, screen changes, and cleaning on tire shredding and rubber processing equipment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the Maintenance staff to prioritize equipment needs and repair.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Assist in operational troubleshooting.
**Core Competencies**:
- Mechanically inclined and skilled to use standard hand and pneumatic tools
- Quick to learn with the ability to follow instructions and seek clarity
- Proven verbal and written English communication skills
- Organizational and time management abilities
- General awareness of area risks and hazards and proper safe mitigation of them
- Ability to work as a member of a team or with limited supervision
- Ability to complete legible written reports as required
- High standards of work, meticulous, with great attention to detail
- Confident, resourceful, and highly motivated
- Possess a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
**Education/Experience**:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum one (1) year of related experience, ideally in a Manufacturing/Production setting
- First Aid Certification is considered an asset
- Forklift Certification is considered an asset
