About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Sr Supervisor, Utilities/Lab/Rail, the Lloyd Union Third Loader is responsible for the safe operation of the rail-loading operating area. This includes operation of all types of equipment, pumps, valves and control panel consoles, as well as the documentation of daily activities. This role works with offsites personnel and various refinery departments, as well as with CN and CP Train Transportation Managers.

This Third Loader is accountable for ensuring all work is executed in a safe, timely, efficient, and high-quality manner consistent with corporate and site-specific policies, procedures and standards.

**Responsibilities**:
- Perform safe and reliable railcar loading operations to meet Refinery objectives.- Perform safe and reliable railcar movements within the Refinery railyard.- Issue maintenance work requests as required, ensure proper coding and adequate detail is given for notifications.- Prepare rail equipment for maintenance as well as issue work permits.- Complete spot checks and ensure the work is being done in a safe and timely manner- Follow daily Load Instruction sheets, and complete/log all actions as per Daily Log, daily maintenance schedule and Refinery business plan (including routine maintenance and housekeeping duties).- Complete required operator training and ensure allocated training hours are met- Act as first response in handling of emergency situations as needed- Comply with all HS&E, PSM and ISO 9001 requirements in the performance of this position’s responsibilities.- Attend and contribute to toolbox talks and safety meetings, hazard assessments, FLHA’s and STOP job observations.

Qualifications:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada- Grade 12 diploma is required- Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate- The following would be considered an asset:
- Journeyman Trades Certificate-
- Industrial Railway Locomotive Operations Training-
- Related experience working around railcars, tracks and switches- Operating experience in a Refinery or Industrial setting- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems- Ability and skill to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with multi-disciplined personnel.- Self-motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision, independently or in a team setting- Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment- Proficient in MS Office suite and SAP would be an asset-
