**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**

**JOB SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Executive Director & the Operations Manager, the Social Media Manager and Content Creator will be responsible for maintaining and implementing Youth Ottawa's Communications and Marketing strategy along with developing the stories that promote the organization across all platforms. Overall, the purpose of this job is to grow recognition of both youth achievement and Youth Ottawa's brand with key stakeholders and ensure all communications, marketing and events activities are being executed to the highest level possible.

The following tasks will be worked on in conjunction with the Executive Director of Youth Ottawa and other Youth Ottawa

Staff:

- Maintain and implement Youth Ottawa's Communications & Marketing Strategy (80%)
- Coordinate and develop external communications products and content (promotional pieces, website and social media posts, impact and gratitude reports, blog posts etc (in English and French)
- Coordinate, lead and execute all social media's activities.
- Develop baseline graphic design for the organization's online presence, coordinate and supervise external designers as required.
- Supervise our content marketing assistants activities and ensure this is being optimized.
- Ensure adherence to Youth Ottawa's branding guidelines as well as those of our partners.
- Work with our operations manager and events team to coordinate media availability.
- Report key updates to the Executive Director in bi-weekly management meetings.
- Provide leadership to and for all Comms & Marketing Staff. (You will be leading the MarCom activities)
- Ensure Youth Ottawa promotional materials are at community events and, on occasion, attend these events to promote the organization and our activities.
- Maintain and update Youth Ottawa's Client Relationship Management Database
- Maintain supplies of fundraising/promotional materials at all times
- Maintain communications budget
- Management & Leadership (20% of the job)
- Support the Executive Director with Marketing & Communications management, leadership and supervision.
- Plan, schedule and host weekly MarCom meetings.
- Coordinate end of week staff report / check ins.
- Lead your department's end of quarter presentations and reports.
- Notify the Executive Director of any concerns, issues or preventative measures that might be needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS**
- Organized, efficient, reliable and detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative work
- B.A. Degree and 5-7 years professional office experience in a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, particularly with respect to concise communications
- Experience using a CRM and Marketing Automation System.
- Experience using a Project Management software to track activities and impact.
- Desire to problems solve and use outside of the box thinking
- Ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds, training, and experience
- A genuine sense of optimism and belief in the power of youth to make a difference

**COMPENSATION**

$25-$40 /hr

20 - 35 hours work week

**TIMEFRAME**

Interviews will be conducted the week of July, 4th-14th 2023

Ideal start date will be July,17th - August, 4th 2023.
