**About Us**:
SMGH Foundation (the Foundation) continues to grow as an organization, persistently raising and flowing more funds to help support the equipment needs of Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital
(SMGH). It is only through the support of our community and our donors that we continue to maintain SMGH as a vibrant community hospital.
In the past year, the Foundation has developed a Revenue Generation Plan (RGP) that will see us double the amount of funds we donate to SMGH each year. In support of this Plan, collaboratively, the Board and Staff Team (The Team) has created a set of Strategic Imperatives and a Human
Resources Plan that will action the RGP.
The Team is excited to operationalize the RGP, and the new position of Mid-Level Giving Officer will be a crucial step forward.
**What You Will Do**:
Manage and grow a portfolio of donors to secure annual, mid-level ($1,000-$10,000) gifts.

We are a small but mighty team with three Certified Fund-Raising Executives (CFRE), a Governance
Specialist, a Financial Coordinator, a Database Analyst, a part-time Office Manager and two dedicated office Volunteers. The success of the Team depends on all our members, and we will focus on settling you into your new role.
We will give you peer-to-peer support, a collaborative team dynamic, and the opportunity to gain experience and move forward in your career as you build a robust portfolio of engaged donors.

**Location of Position**:
We are an organization that has embraced the hybrid work environment. However, we recognize that our donors are expecting staff to be in the office on a regular basis and expect our employees to schedule 1-2 days per week to work on site.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
The Mid-Level Giving Officer is a member of a small and important team, responsible for stewarding our relationship with our donors and the greater community. This position reports to and will receive guidance from the COO, but SMGH Foundation has a flat organizational structure, and all employees can and do influence decisions and contribute to the ongoing success of the
Foundation.
**Overview**:
Grow the mid-level donor segment ($1,000 - 10,0000 range)
Increase the number of donors.
Allow donors the opportunity to consider larger contributions.
Manage strategic and personalized communication with donors.
Social Media
Direct Mail
Personal/individual contact
Help to administer, improve, and develop giving programs and strategies
Raise the projected funds needed for new medical equipment
Manage expenses for assigned fundraising programs and initiatives
Embrace our culture of continuous improvement and success
**Responsibilities**:
Review existing programs and strategies and help to create an action plan
Stewardship strategies to cultivate, solicit, move, and embrace donors
Detailed donor and prospect documentation and tracking using Raiser’s Edge
Generate activity reports
Segmented and direct personalized contact
Understanding when to use social media, direct mail, phone calls or meet in-person
Work closely with your team to improve your success and that of the Foundation
Collaborate with the CEO and COO on Major Gifts and Planned Gifts
Identify prospects for ongoing capital campaigns
Develop and attend mid-level giving events
And other events as needed
Other assigned duties as needed
Our size dictates that all staff are cross-trained.
From time to time, you will need to enter a gift, scan a cheque, give directions, work at a 3rd party event, etc
**Successful Canadates**
You will have experience as a giving officer or a similar role with a proven track record of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
You understand how to communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict in a positive way.
You understand the importance of and will always maintain confidentiality.
You will have worked as a fundraiser in a healthcare environment.
