**The opportunity**:
The University of Manitoba is looking for an Accounting Analyst. This position will be responsible for creating monthly invoices, reports, and requisitions, monitors and reconciles clearing accounts, and prepares, reviews, and processes journal entries. The Accounting Analyst will also assist with the preparation of budget transfer entries, management reports, managing all aspects of sponsored student accounting.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Must be enrolled in a minimum level of Core 2 of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) professional accounting program.
- A university degree with a major in accounting is desirable.
- Two years' experience working in a complex accounting environment where knowledge of accounting theory and practice and a working knowledge of computer-produced data has been acquired and applied is required.
- Must have previous experience working in an environment where use of a major financial system with interfaces/feeds from other data sources were the norm.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-task environment required.
- Proficiency in using intermediate to advanced features of Microsoft Office products required.
- Tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain positive relations in dealing with University staff, students, outside agencies and public is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service is required.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines is required.
- Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and complete assigned tasks accurately with mínimal supervision.
- Familiarity or experience with University policies and culture preferred.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
