Procurement Intern

Oakville, Canada Coordinate Industries Ltd. Full time

Performs a variety of administrative and data processing duties to develop real-world exposure to Procurement and Supply Chain Management within the manufacturing industry. Intern will be responsible for various activities in the plant to support the Procurement Team in the delivery of projects and services efficiently and effectively.

**1- Job Related Duties & Responsibilities**
- Assist Procurement Manager with continuous improvement, data analysis and entry projects
- Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information, interest, qualifications, and other upfront information
- Prepare Request for Quotation/Request for Proposal documentation for solicitation to selected bidders
- Manage bidder questions and clarifications through routine coordination with Engineering, and Program Management
- Review bid proposals and negotiate commercial terms with guidance from Procurement Manager or delegate
- Draft and Issue Purchase Orders to selected and approved suppliers
- Continuously monitor, through coordination with Planning, Program Management and Engineering, the status of open orders to ensure goods are delivered on time
- Utilize Epicor Supply Management systems (ERP) to update status and issue routine reports to Program Management
- Effectively interact cross-functionally with Logistics, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Production, Finance, Programs and other Departments.
- Liaise with Planning to administer changes in schedules with mínimal impact to production.
- Assist Manager and Buyers with supplier recovery schedules to meet organization’s demand requirements.
- Secure competitive bids for industrial goods and services.

**2- Training, Experience, Education and Skill Requirements**
- Minimum: College Diploma in Business or Material Management or working towards
- Preferred: PMAC SCMP designation or working towards
- Solid understanding of ERP/MRP and production planning principles
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining strong sense of urgency and focus on customer service
- Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Proactive attitude with strong attention to detail
- Initiative to investigate problems, develop solutions and obtain results
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining strong sense of urgency and focus on customer service
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills
- Must be able to work independently, with teams and have good interpersonal skills.
- Organized with a keen eye for details.
- Must have high analytical skills and problem solving.
- Able to self-control and follow instructions independently..

**Salary**: From $19.00 per hour
