POSITION OVERVIEWUnder the supervision of the coordinator, Child Development, the educator will have the principal mandate of developing and delivering age appropriate programs. He/she will ensure a pleasant and secure environment for the children, as well as, work in close collaboration with the other educators in developing educational activities for the preschool program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, animates and evaluates activities related to the interests of the children and the overall educational program of the preschool department, while implementing the Playing to Learn curriculum.
- Writes a monthly newsletter to the classroom parents.
- Writes two documentations relating to the program on a monthly basis as per the Playing to Learn Curriculum.
- Plans a progressive weekly calendar of daily activities for the children which should include arts and crafts, story time, play opportunities, music, science, pre-math and physical fitness.
- Is aware of each child’s progress and development in order to adapt/adjust the programming towards responding to that child’s needs.
- Helps in the planning of and participate in fundraising activities as well as special events and outings organized by the preschool department
- Adhere to the YMCA’s Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
- Understand and integrate the value of philanthropy in his post and in the Association and participate in activities / fundraising events.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognized educational training in Early Childhood Education or other relevant training to the position;
- Experience in a daycare setting
- Experience in group animation and intervention an asset;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Excellent language skills, verbal and written, in English. French verbal skills an asset.
- Qualifications in first aid and C.P.R an asset.
- Have no criminal record in connection with employment.

**Location**: Westmount YMCA (4585 Sherbrooke Ouest)
**Status**: Part-time
**Salary**: $18.10/h - $25.50/h
**Schedule**: 18.5 - 35h hrs/week
