**Job Description**:
The EHS Assistant is responsible for assisting with activities related to health, safety and the environment within the facility. They will work with the EHS Coordinator to address safety indicators to improve our overall safety record
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist with monthly JHSC meetings, including coordination and minutes
- Provide monthly analytics and analysis on safety trends within the facility
- Participate in workplace inspections
- Participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis
- Respond to health and safety concerns from employees in a timely manner
- Develop and lead a communication strategy to increase overall safety awareness within the facility
- Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met.
- Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Education and/or Experience:

- Post-secondary education in a related field is required (working towards or completed

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of EHS legislation and requirements
- Basic mathematical skills required with particular emphasis on accuracy
- Able to work well independently or in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment while maintaining quality

Language Skills:

- Proficient in English (both spoken and written)

Work Environment (including Physical Demands):
The physical demands & work environment characteristics are reflective of general conditions and do not reflect a complete physical demands analysis
- Work indoors. Environment can be noisy with variable temperatures (i.e. extreme heat)
- Office work for the majority of the time
