Equipment Operator II
The Town of High Level requires a responsible & motivated individual for the position of
Equipment Operator II, commencing immediately.
This position is 40hrs/week with a comprehensive benefit package after 90 days.
Wage Scale: $27.76 - $34.14 per hour.
Reporting to the Public Works Foreman, the Equipment Operator II is responsible for the safe operation of equipment including, but not inclusive to, Tandem Trucks with trailers, Front-end Loaders, Backhoe, Gravel Truck, Sander/Plow Truck Street Sweeper, Hydrovac and small equipment, in addition to medium to high amounts of physical labour. The Equipment Operator II is also responsible for assisting with Water and Wastewater maintenance. During the absence of the Equipment Operator III the Equipment Operator II may be required to perform the some of the duties of the Equipment Operator III.
The Employee may be required on an ongoing basis to attend applicable training, workshops, seminars and courses at the discretion of the Employer in order to facilitate job knowledge and performance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirements/level of education required to perform these responsibilities are:
- Completion of Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent experience;
- Must possess a valid Class 3 Driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement;
- 2 to 5 years experience heavy equipment operation;
- Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset;
- Experience repairing water distribution and wastewater collection systems are advantageous; and
- Proof in a form satisfactory to the Town of High Level of full COVID-19 vaccination.
