The Opportunity
We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking oncorr HSE lead to join our established and growing team in Toronto.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Developing strategies to ensure transformational HSW industry standards are adopted across all contracts.
- Collaborating and influencing the client team to implement and maintain program, systems, and procedures to achieve cross contract area transformational HSW practice.
- Advising the MCS head of health, safety and wellbeing on strategic HSW matters.
- Championing transformational health and safety initiatives and drive their implementation with the alliance partners.
- Collaborating and advising the client and stakeholders on strategic matters of HSW.
- Supporting and driving a dynamic lessons learnt and business improvement process for HSW across the program.
- Producing required reports and input data (would like to discuss reporting protocols and potential admin assistance for data input and development of reports).
- Assuring the delivery of HSW initiatives.
- Developing training/presentations/briefing packages and delivering to appropriate target audience based on their role/responsibilities within the program.
- Providing support to all teams and contractors to resolve any HSW technical and process issues may arise.
- Working with respective functional managers for development of risk profile and strategies for mitigation.
About You
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are able to share a clear vision and inspire others. You have a positive attitude and enthusiasm. You are a problem solver and have excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
You have technical knowledge and extensive experience in safety systems and railway programs. You have technical knowledge and experience in safety systems management and auditing like ISO 45001. You have accident/incident analysis methods expertise. You have experience in developing and embedding health, safety and wellbeing management systems. You have working knowledge of Canada Labour Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, CROR and other relevant federal and provincial/States health and safety legislation. You have working knowledge of OHS policies, standards, legislation and procedures pertaining to the industry. You have good knowledge of the regional politic, economic, social and security context.
You have a health and safety related degree or equivalent. You have experience in large scale program delivery. You have developing HSW integrated management systems. You have rail and infrastructure delivery experience.
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated construction teams. You will be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
