**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The Articling Students will do the following:

- conduct legal research;
- draft memoranda and other legal opinions;
- draft legal documents, such as by-laws, resolutions, contracts, agreements, and court pleadings or submissions;
- be responsible for the carriage of simple files, appropriate for their level of knowledge and experience;
- provide support to lawyers on different matters relating to the operations of AIC Global Holdings Inc., and conglomerate of companies;
- accompany lawyers to client meetings, examinations for discovery, and similar events to gain hands-on experience in the practice of law; and
- perform other duties as assigned.

**Skills and Qualifications**:
The legal department is looking for is looking for an Articling Student who possesses the following:

- qualified to commence articling in July, 2024 in accordance with the requirements of the Law Society of Ontario, for a period of ten (10) months.
- excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others;
- strong legal research skills and facility using digital and online reference materials and tools;
- excellent writing skills and the ability to draft clear, concise and persuasive memoranda, pleadings and other legal documents; and
- strong organization and time-management skills and the proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of LL.B. or J.D. or LSO approved equivalency.
- Class G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Other articling student eligibility requirements as required by the Law Society of Ontario.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

- Certificate of Standing (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Burlington, ON L7P 4V7
