**Quality Assurance Specialist (Systems Testing QA)**
- **Start Date**: August, 2024
- **End Date**: March, 2025

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Advise on testing strategy, test plans, selection of testing tools, and identification of resources required for testing.
- Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in both GUI and non-GUI environments, including executing systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests).
- Develop test plans, test scripts, and test cases, and execute these against various system components.
- Collaborate with the testing lead, IT lead, and project team members throughout the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support phases.

**Key Deliverables**:

- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, scripts, and cases.
- Ensure high-quality testing of all system components and support UAT activities.
- Produce detailed testing strategy documentation and maintain accurate records of test results and issues.
- Provide weekly status updates on testing progress, issues, and resolutions.

**Skills and Experience Requirements**:

- **Technical Skills (30%)**:

- 10+ years of experience in planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems in GUI and non-GUI environments.
- Proficiency in executing functional tests, non-functional tests, and systems-level integration tests.
- Experience in coding automated test scripts to produce sets of automated test cases.
- Knowledge of procedures and techniques for testing web-based, online, batch, client-server systems, and web services.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
- **Other Skills (30%)**:

- Experience in requirements gathering and test plan walkthroughs, including static testing.
- Experience in setting up user access, user profiles, backup and recovery, and day-to-day computer systems operations.
- **Client Support (25%)**:

- Experience working with client customer support representatives to assist in data setup for training and implementation.
- **Government Business Process Experience (5%)**:
**Must-Haves**:

- Execution of functional tests, non-functional tests, and systems-level integration tests.
- Support for user acceptance testing (UAT) and participation in UAT activities.
- Creation of testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases, and test data.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.

**General Professional Skills**:

- Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts.
- Familiarity with CASE tools and data query tools for test case development.
- Proficiency in using automated test tools and version control systems across platforms.
- Support for UAT and participation in UAT activities.
- Understanding of quality assurance principles, practices, and structured methodologies.
- Creation of testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases, and test data.
- Experience across all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with one or more automated testing tools.

**Desirable (nice-to-have) Skills**:

- Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language.
- Use of information retrieval packages.
- Understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with Information Management principles.
- Awareness of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations.
- Experience in planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems.
- Proficiency in coding automated test scripts.
- Testing of Commercial Off-the-Shelf Applications (COTS).

Pay: $80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
