This opportunity reports into our Plymouth, Michigan office and is a 100% travel position. Preventative Maintenance Engineer is responsible for basic maintenance of laser equipment at customer facilities and some basic level repair items. Opportunity for growth into repair and installation teams for field service.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities
- Travel across the entire US as a part on behalf of the technical service group
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality
- Complete retrofits, software installations, and provide customers with training as necessary
- Participate in initial training period lasting approximately 5 - 6 months, as well as additional annual trainings on existing and new products
- Provide on-call 24/7 telephone support as required, as part of a rotating on-call support system
- Document customer machine information and technical conditions, and make suggestions for improvement
- Prepare and submit documentation for efficient invoicing
- Maintain company property for safe operation and maximum life
- Any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management
- Adhere to all company guidelines

Travel
- 100% travel required, both internationally and domestically.
- Must maintain valid Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain Passport and rent automobiles
- Overnights required

Physical Requirement
- Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office, and ability to conduct normal amount of work on a computer
- Ability to lift and transport up to 70 lbs

Education & Experience
- Two-year technical degree or two or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service preferred
- Electrical and computer systems experience
- Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics preferred
- Experience with TRUMPF equipment considered advantageous
- Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools required
- Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Software: Microsoft Office; Word; Outlook; Excel and PowerPoint
