**Your Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, Administrative Human Resource Services at the Faculty of Arts and Science, the Manager, Administrative Human Resource Services is a key strategic partner in supporting the efficient and effective delivery of a full range of non-academic HR services. Key responsibilities include the oversight and management of the following functional areas: recruitment and on-boarding of staff, client and stakeholder relations, job evaluation and salary administration, labour and employee relations, performance management, organizational change, training and development, sick leave and accommodation, and succession planning. The incumbent provides strategic advice and insight to managers based on human resources best practices and relevant polices, collective agreements and employment legislation; ensures that new and revised University HR policies and practices are properly implemented across client groups.

In consultation with the Director, Administrative Human Resource Services, the incumbent is responsible for implementing human resource strategies, policies, programs that support the Faculty’s strategic goals and are consistent with and support the broader, university-wide central Human Resources and University of Toronto goals, within the framework of relevant legislation and University policies and procedures. The incumbent leads and mentors a team of administrative human resources professionals, and serves as a designate in the Director’s absence.

**Essential Qualifications**:
EDUCATION:
University degree together with completion of a Certified HR Professional designation (CHRL) and/or Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum seven (7) years’ experience as a Human Resources generalist in a post-secondary or research-intensive environment. Experience dealing effectively with a diverse group of clients in difficult or sensitive situations. Labour relations experience in a unionized environment. Experience with organizational design, leadership development and performance management. Experience recruiting, training, supervising, mediating, coaching and mentoring staff. Proven management and leadership skills; experience in team building and managing change in both unionized and non-unionized environment.

SKILLS:
Demonstrated managerial, coaching, mentoring and team-building skills. Strong oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation. Strong client service orientation. Effective problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy and persuasion. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Must be a strong advocate of equity, human rights and diversity issues. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team. Ability to make difficult decisions. Ability to manage conflict. Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, manage multiple/competing priorities as well as deal with unexpected emergencies as they arise. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems (e.g. SAP, JDX, SuccessFactors, etc.).

OTHER:
Demonstrated ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in all interactions. Excellent ability to deal effectively with people at all levels and constituencies within the Faculty, the University and the education community. Ability to interact with others in a manner which facilitates cooperation and achieve consensus. Able to concisely summarize information and provide rationale for action.
