ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Technical Team Leader (CoE FIN and HR), the Thomson Reuters Solutions Functional Analyst is responsible for converting business analyses performed by business analysts into technical roadmaps detailing designs and configurations.

The position requires expertise in tax management and global business management. Communication skills and business acumen. In this position, you will work closely with business analysts, architects, the development team and managers, as well as the business sectors involved.

**YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO**:
Offer evidence-based advice and evaluations related to technology tools or programs.

Assess the needs and objectives of the product management tower.

Advise on the best solutions to meet requirements.

Use data analysis and research to provide design recommendations and configurations.

Carry out issue investigations.

Provide deployment support.

Develop/document solution specifications.

Provide technical advice and coaching to support team members.

Convert business requirements into specific HR solutions for complex projects.

Write functional specifications to document all detailed implementation information.

Analyze the interdependencies between functional and non-functional requirements.

Work closely with the business sectors and integrators involved at BRP.

YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Good technical and functional knowledge of Thomson Reuters' OneSource solutions (OneSource determination, OneSource compliance, OneSource GT and OneSource Tax) or equivalent with a willingness to learn.

Experience in tax management systems.

To be qualified for this position, you need strong communication, organizational and technical writing skills.

You'll be expected to demonstrate your in-depth troubleshooting and analysis skills through discussions on technology architecture and design, assisting with critical escalations, and mentoring others in your area of expertise.

You must have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly analyze live issues.

You must have previous practical experience in change control, source control and deployment management.

You must possess strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking and excellent oral and written communication skills.

You'll need to understand and have a solid grasp of the requirements, as you'll be taking part in discussions on solutions. You will be called upon to evaluate and propose solution approaches.

You must be able to collaborate with technical and sales teams to determine the details and value of solutions.

You'll need to manage business expectations throughout the project cycle.

The ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec or in English on a daily basis.

A bachelor's degree in computer science, or a college degree with relevant training and certification in information systems and professional experience of more than 5 years.

Professional experience in business systems related to finance, and sales and distribution.

A positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

Strong communication skills (written and oral).

A team player who demonstrates enthusiasm and initiative.

Business acumen to anticipate and exceed company expectations.
