Why we have this role: *

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of the Fortified Nutrition business including the maintenance of accurate accounting records and the generation of monthly, quarterly and financial reports. The Accounting Manager will engage in all aspects of corporate accounting, development of internal control policies and procedures, regulatory and financial reporting and billing and invoicing.

What you'll do: *
- Take ownership of the day-to-day accounting and finance functions
- Monitor banking transactions in multiple currencies
- Provide leadership and direction to staff members in overcoming challenges in performing daily tasks
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly general ledger close responsibilities for corporate entities, including the preparation of journal entries, AP/AR, account reconciliations and analysis, and bank reconciliation in SAGE 300
- Adhere to and manage financial controls, system controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets
- Manage financial data and transactions
- Ensure completion of expenses in Concur
- Inventory control accuracy in SAGE 300
- Posting payroll records in a timely manner
- Monthly/quarterly/annual close process by performing account reconciliations, updating working papers and posting journal entries
- Responsible for month-end adjusting entries and accruals, and allocations as necessary
- Preparation of schedules for month-end and year-end review process with external auditors
- Complete statutory financial obligations including payroll, sales tax, WSIB, StatsCan and various other government requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in the day-to-day financial operations, making recommendations on how to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Subject matter expert for the current ERP System and key stakeholder in the selection and implementation of enhanced systems in the future.

**Your background includes**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or relevant field
- 5+ years in progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing business
- Working knowledge of ASPE/GAAP and regional tax legislation
- Strong full cycle accounting/month-end experience
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and conflicting priorities
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills essential for interacting with external stakeholders, internal customers, team members and regulatory agencies
- Demonstrated ability to deliver process change by exercising initiative
- Exhibit discretion, sound judgement, high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel)
- Working knowledge of Sage 300, GreatPlains/Business Central, Concur, Power BI products is considered an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or relevant field
