The Regional Cancer Program (RCP) at the Carlo Fidani Regional Cancer Centre, oversees the delivery and quality of cancer services for residents of the Central West and Mississauga Halton region. Regional Cancer Programs/Regional Cancer Centres are part of Ontario’s cancer system leading local strategy implementation to provide person-centred, safe, equitable, efficient, effective, and timely cancer care on a foundation of quality improvement principles.

**_Overview of the opportunity:_**

Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Integration and Cancer Services Strategy, the Regional Cancer Program Specialist will support multiple program requirements to coordinate functions, including:
**_
Managing Information Flow _**
- Multiple and varied activities of the Regional Cancer Program
- Liaising with RCP leadership to support direction and guidance to regional hospitals in alignment with Ontario Health (CCO), Ontario Cancer Plan, the RCP Integrated Cancer Plan (ICP) and performance indicators.
- Escalating risks as appropriate.
- In collaboration with RCP team members, support regional initiatives, and engage with hospital partners to support performance and strategic decision-making as indicated.

**_ Managing RCP Program Structures & Meetings_**
- In collaboration with RCP team members, interact with key hospital partners to support development of content for program meetings, which includes developing work plans to guide effective decision making and agenda management.
- Liaising with RCP team members to support accountability and meeting logistics.
- Coordinating external and internal initiatives across the region, and supporting the development of report creation and presentation decks.
- Supporting the development of regular reports on behalf of the Regional Cancer Program (RCP), including quarterly reports to ensure partners are informed.
- Developing and coordinating communications by responding to requests, gathering additional information, triaging and referring to program leadership as appropriate to ensure requests are addressed in a strategic, timely and coordinated manner.

**_ Supporting Effective Regional Program Operations_**
- Support key program areas (example: Ontario Breast Screening Program) through maintaining quality and integrity of structure and function elements
- Support communication flow and distributions as it relates to Regional Cancer Program operations
- Participate in planning and implementation of key projects
- Working with Leadership, RCP team members, regional hospitals, and Program Administrative Assistants to complete ad-hoc duties and support day to day efficient functioning of the office, including management of priorities, as indicated.

**_ Qualifications:_**
- Post-secondary degree required in life sciences, health sciences or business
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a health care setting considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Visio, and Excel required)
- Must be extremely detail oriented
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and a strong track record of working collaboratively with leaders and their support staff from within the organization and with external partners
- Strong knowledge of calendar management and demonstrated experience supporting committees
- Demonstrates a high degree of initiative, self-direction and ability to multitask, and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team to meet timelines and accomplish goals
- Satisfactory attendance and performance required
