Carpenter

We are a small custom carpentry and construction company located on Vancouver Island, in Ucluelet, BC. We work on a diverse set of projects, from decks and garages to renovating and building new houses.

A clean safe work environment, and attention to the finer details of each design or build of a project are always top of mind here at Canso Construction, and we are looking for an experienced carpenter who can reflect that in their work, and has the ability to to work independently or as part of a team.

EXAMPLES PROJECTS YOU MAY WORK ON:

- New Home Builds
- Remodeling and Renovation
- Custom Woodworking and Designs with Hard and Exotic Woods
- Design and Build with Local Old Growth Fir and Cedar Sustainably Salvaged
- Repurposing, Reusing, and Restoring Salvaged Wood Products in Designs and Builds

IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SETS OF QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of new home construction, house plans and architectural drawings, foundations, and BC building codes.
- Or, have 5+ years in new home construction and/or renovations with older homes, and are skilled in a diverse range of finishing carpentry skills. Including but not limited to custom tiling, flooring, trim work, siding, windows and doors, decks, fences and garages, and complete these tasks with mínimal or no direction.

PLEASE NOTE: Ucluelet and Tofino, is a beautiful place to live and work, and it’s a popular spot for tourists from all over the world to come and fish, surf, hike, rock climb, mountain bike, and anything ocean, river, and mountain related. It's also a great place for families, as both towns are very community oriented and family friendly.

We may be able to help arrange housing for the short term or possibly longer, for when you first arrive, but most likely to get your foot in the door you will require a mobile residence at first, Van/ RV/ 5th Wheel or otherwise. That you can park and live in until you find something permanent.

There are few places to rent in town and local campsites that rent off-season that have full service hookups for RVs and 5th wheels, if you require that route. It will be easier to find a place to live once you are here in town. We will try to be as accommodating as possible.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
