**Junior Carpenter**
- **Role**_
The Junior Carpenter position applicant must be able to use power tools, work independently and have a vehicle to get to and from construction sites. Tasks include building safety railings, installing backing, building pony walls, building site signage boards and other small carpentry tasks as well as some general labour tasks such as picking up material for site and site clean up.
- **Education & Training**_
Carpenters may receive their training on the job or by attending vocational schools, technical schools and/or formal carpentry apprenticeship programs.
A valid driver’s license, with a clean driver’s abstract, is a requirement. WCB Level 1 First Aid is an asset. Ticket of qualification in carpentry is an asset.
- **Skills**_
A junior carpenter must know how to use all of the normal handheld power tools associated with the trade. A strong working knowledge of shop tools is an asset. Competency with basic construction and at least 2 years of experience in the construction industry or equivalent education.
