The Inuulitsivik Health Center, with over 900 employees, is part of the Quebec health and social services network, Nunavik region. It provides front-line health and social services to the population of the Hudson Bay territory, which is made up of approximately 7,000 people, including prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation and support services. In addition, it provides services related to youth protection as well as the management, for the Nunavik region, of Ullivik located in Dorval. The mission of the latter is to receive Inuit people who need health services in participating Montreal hospitals. The Inuit population is distributed in seven communities on the Hudson Bay coast, from Kuujjuaraapik to Salluit.
Under the authority of the Assistant Director of the YPD, the person will perform design, guidance, consultation, updating, analysis and evaluation activities in one or more social programs.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather additional information necessary to determine whether or not to intervene under the YPA;
- Determining the urgency of the situation and implementing protective measures if necessary
- Encourage the mobilization of the child and his parents to quickly correct the situation and, if necessary, to solicit their collaboration, without the need for intervention by the DYP
- Solicit the collaboration of local resources to help (social services, schools, community organizations, etc.);
- Refer the child and his parents to the appropriate resources;
- Writing reports and progress notes;
- Emergency psychosocial care;
- Covering the reception and processing of referrals as needed: receiving referrals and conducting a summary analysis;
- Ongoing collaboration with various partners.
**Qualifications**
- Have an undergraduate degree in the humanities or a technical degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. social work, special education, delinquency intervention, etc.);
- Have a theoretical and practical knowledge of the Youth Protection Act and the concept of protection;
**Experience required**
- Have experience with children;
**Essential skills and aptitudes**
- Fluent in English, written and spoken, Inuktitut is an asset;
- Highly adaptable and culturally sensitive;
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills;
- Ability to work under pressure, in emergency and crisis situations;
- Respect for the confidentiality of files.
- Valid driver's license
**Conditions and benefits**
- 3 Positions based in Puvirnituq with frequent travel to the 7 villages of Hudson Bay;
- Temporary full time (35 hours/week);
- Hourly rate between 27.08$/h and 47.98$/h;
- Cargo premium: 115.64$/week;
- Removal premium: $203.66/week without dependant and $358.99/week with dependant;
- Retention premium: $114.99/week;
- Furnished housing provided;
- 3 to 4 outings per year depending on family status;
- Air transportation paid by the center.
- Moving and storage expenses reimbursed by the health centre
Up to 16 weeks off per year
