**Job Description**:

Reporting to the Manager, Child, Youth and Family Mental Health Services, the Coordinator, Child, Youth and Family Mental Health Outpatient Services (MHOP) provides direct leadership to a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, and establishes and monitors clinical standards, and best practice guidelines to support and ensure quality client and family-centred service and trauma informed care across the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), where Child, Youth & Family Mental Health Services are provided. The Coordinator contributes to the planning and facilitation of a range of strategies that support the implementation, maintenance and evaluation of strategic initiatives within Child, Youth and Family Mental Health Services.

The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring MHOP Services' core professional competencies are met and linked to human resources activities. The Coordinator participates in the development and implementation of training and education programs designed to support the recruitment and retention of qualified professional staff in MHOP Services.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in a relevant health care field such as nursing, psychology or social work with five (5) years' related clinical consultation/supervision, administration, community development, and project management experience.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Experience working with children and youth and their families in a mental health environment and experience with developing, monitoring and evaluating quality improvement, initiatives, information management systems and outcome informed, performance-based contracting practices.
- The appropriate required certifications, licenses or professional designations.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working and team relationships.
- Ability to develop and nurture an environment where quality improvement principles are embraced and used on a continuous basis.
- Demonstrated skills in the development and implementation of core professional clinical competencies, standards and practices
- Thorough knowledge of multidisciplinary team approach involved in the coordination of care and system of care services in a complex environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and delegate.
- Demonstrated commitment to client/family focused services and teamwork.
- Ability to integrate administrative, professional and operational aspects of the program throughout VIHA in an effective and efficient manner.
- Excellent knowledge of issues affecting child and adolescent mental health in all areas of service delivery.
- Ability to work with computer technology on a sophisticated level.
