Experienced Railway Maintenance Laborers Needed

RTC Rail Solutions is hiring experienced railway track maintenance laborers.
The ideal applicant enjoys physical labor and working outdoors. They have a strong safety culture and work well in a team environment.
Railway track maintainers are responsible for repairing and replacing rails, ties, switches, ballast, amongst other tasks that may include minor vehicle repair, upkeep of tools, and various shop tasks.
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Maintaining client rails, ties, switches, ballast, etc. through repair and replacement.
- Remove and replace defective ties, rails, spikes, anchors, lags, and other items.
- Maintain various hand tools.
- Repair deviations in track gauge, alignment, and surface.
- Sorting of track material, loading, and unloading.
- Install and repair various items such as crossings, switches, insulated joints etc.
- Ensure a safe working environment, upkeep of qualifications, adherence to the Rules and Regulations of railway, and OHS.
**Working Conditions**:
- Physical, must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs
- Repetitive tasks
- Primarily performed outdoors in various weather conditions
- Travel required, including overnight
- Occasional overtime and weekend work
**Requirements for the applicant**:
- Must have relevant work experience with railway
- Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset
- Valid drivers license
- Must be 18yrs of age
- Ability to work independently as needed
- Good teamwork skills
- Dedicated to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Policies.
- Hand-eye coordination
- Welding skills an asset
- Knowledge of Canadian Rail Operating Rules *Qualification is a must*
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
