**Position Title**: AVP Individual Finance, Policy Tax and Inforce

**Reports To**: Individual Finance, Product Development and Pricing Vice President

**Department**: Individual

**Term**: Permanent Full-Time

**Work Arrangements**: We are currently working remotely, and we will be moving to a hybrid model when our office renovation is complete (approximately September 2023), coming into the office a minimum of 2 days per week, every other week on designated days.

The AVP of Individual Finance, Policy Tax and Inforce is a key leader within the individual business unit and leads the finance, policy tax and inforce teams and functions. They are responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and analysis, the administration of policyholder taxation, and for generating data analytics use cases within the inforce block to identify opportunities to improve client outcomes, increase business persistency, and monitor financial performance of the block relative to targets.

**What you will be doing**:

- Responsible for oversight and integrity of the finance function within Individual Insurance including expense management and reporting, budgeting, sales reporting and analysis and financial reporting as well as development of financial management reports
- Work with sales and business leaders to develop sales targets, sales incentive structures, management of sales compensation administration, and commission override and bonus levels and structures, ensuring these programs encourage and reward responsible and organic growth and business persistency
- Oversee the manual and automated administration of policyholder taxation across several tax generations, and for leading projects that ensure the integrity of our tax administration programs within the individual insurance portfolio
- Lead a team of policy specialists who execute escalated policyholder or advisor requests for complex projections and inquiries for inforce policies, co-ordinating closely with the operations and sales teams on those escalated cases
- Monitor expenses throughout the year, relative to target and identifying and escalating any expense trends above plan, including monitoring project spend against budget and plans in partnership with the Director, Individual Portfolio Management
- Business lead for our data visualization platforms for sales and expenses, and lead platform transition initiatives when required, ensuring that senior management is able to quickly absorb and interpret a high volume of data and information via intuitive visual representations
- Oversee the development of dashboards through data visualization platforms for key business metrics to arm executives and sales leaders with data driven insights into business performance and opportunities
- Lead the annual business plan process for Individual Insurance, setting sales targets, developing budgets and projecting new business cashflows, co-ordinating with investments, ALM and valuations teams as well as with corporate finance roles
- Lead monthly and quarterly financial reporting functions for Individual Insurance, including production of numerous business performance reports and populating our key results template for senior executive consumption
- Ensure regional sales managers are trained in data visualization platforms and support ad hoc data requests from sales teams with respect to sales performance and results within sales regions
- Manage a team of 12 full time permanent staff (3 direct, 9 indirect), as well as a number of co-ops, and part time consultants and employees, with a total span of control of approximately 20 individuals
- Develop and maintain key relationships with internal sales leaders, and corporate finance partners, and data and analytics teams
- Work closely collaborating & coordinating with product, marketing, pricing, distribution, operations, finance, and technology teams to achieve overall key metrics and strategic objectives for division
- Partner closely with other lines of business - S&R and GB to align practices, experiences on reporting, planning and data use cases
- Develop quarterly market summary report based on LIMRA industry data, drawing insights from market activity and movements
