**) Instructor, Ecological Restoration (MSc)**. This position will join the Renewable Resources department to teach in the Master of Science Ecological Restoration program.
- BCIT’s Master of Science (MSc) in Ecological Restoration is a North America leader in this emerging discipline. The program provides graduates with a world-class knowledge in the science, and applied and technical skills needed to restore a broad range of degraded ecosystems. The program has been designed to advance the science and practice of ecological restoration. Students work with our Faculty and industry partners on a wide range of applied restoration projects, thereby gaining experience in addressing many current environmental challenges. Graduates have an excellent track record of securing positions with consulting companies, non-profit organizations, as well as all levels of government including First Nations.- This position will teach

**QUALIFICATIONS***:
**Minimum Qualifications**:

- PhD in ecological restoration, applied ecology, environmental science, physical geography, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of experience in an applied ecology field.
- Knowledge and experience working in aquatic ecosystems in British Columbia.
- Ability to design and implement a range of assessments in the posted area of teaching.
- Excellent communication (including technical writing), organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to do research in the field of ecological restoration
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collegial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability, which are needed to effectively manage the dynamic conditions and logistics associated with our applied programs.
- Ability to combine multiple sources of knowledge in a teaching context, particularly with engaging relevant Indigenous knowledge-holders and environmental stewards.
- Recent experience and knowledge of industry standard safety protocols.
- Experience with curriculum development.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the post-secondary and graduate level in both classroom and field settings.
- Knowledge of and experience with the principles of terrestrial and aquatic ecological restoration/environmental management.
- A demonstrated ability to publish research and present knowledge at ecological restoration related event
- An ability to attract research funding
- Experience designing and implementing management treatments focused on topics such as mitigating soil erosion, or restoring hydrological conditions.
- Professional designation is an asset (i.e. RPBio).
- Class 4 driver license

**Salary Range**
- Salary Range: $56,845 - $99,571 per annum.**Additional Salary Information**
