**Role Overview**

Marchant Crane Inc. is looking to add to our team for more mobile crane operators.

This person may be a journeyman or currently enrolled in the apprenticeship program.

This role includes set up, operation of, and tear down of cranes on site. This role also includes general maintenance on the cranes, as required.

This role is non-union. Operators may be required to perform rigging, loading, cargo securement and other tasks as per client ad job specific requirements.

Preference is given to personnel who have a Class 1 license and can drive the cranes to/from location.

**Applicants must be able to work in and perform the following**:

- Exposure to extreme heat or cold
- Working in the vicinity of, or operation of, heavy equipment
- Working around controlled products (chemicals, grease, fuels, etc.
- Ability to climb (vertical ladders, stairs, into equipment, others)
- Work at heights
- Strength, stamina, and ability to lift/pull heavy items such as outrigger pads, (over 25kg) using proper lifting techniques
- Operating hand and power tools
- May be required to work night shift

**Responsibilities**
- Assembling, setting up and rigging the crane properly
- Execute lifts from routine to highly complex and extra-heavy lifts
- Interpret load charts including understanding the correct meaning of all notes and warnings and being able to calculate or determine the crane's actual net capacity for every possible configuration of the machine
- Ensuring that any apprentices/riggers/client personnel are in a safe place during operation
- Shutting down and securing the machine properly when it is unattended
- Complete and maintain accurate hours of service records, safety reports, and other work done on the crane while in the field
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance as required
- Uphold HSE regulations and be aware of any site conditions that could affect the crane operation

**Required Skills**:

- 3-5 years of crane experience preferred
- Coordination and manual dexterity
- Good vision
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate with ground crews using hand signals and voice communication

**Safety & Training Requirements**
- Provincial or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Mobile Crane ticket, or actively enrolled in apprenticeship program
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Class 1 Drivers License considered an asset
- Acceptable Diver’s Abstract
- Intermediate (standard) First Aid
- H2S Alive
- CSTS-2020
- Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Adhere to all company, and where applicable, client safe work rules and procedures at all times

The above safety tickets are considered an asset; however, training can be provided upon successful hire-on.

**PPE Requirements**
- PPE shall be provided upon hire

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: $31.50-$45.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 44 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- On call
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

**Experience**:
