Halifax, Canada Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Centre Full time

Welcome to Every One Every Day Kjipuktuk/Halifax

Every One Every Day (EOED) Kjipuktuk/Halifax is a Reconciliation Initiative of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre (MNFC) working to develop a system of neighbourhood participation that invites learning and action towards Truth & Reconciliation. To date, we have built infrastructure to support a growing network of practical participation projects, including a Neighbourhood Shop and Community Build Trailor in the North End of Halifax. Every One Every Day projects create opportunities for residents to connect and learn over shared interests, facilitating social cohesion and resilience. Drawing on their knowledge and skills, neighbours work together to co-create inclusive civic and social spaces.

We are seeking a Program Evaluator who is interested in a new way of thinking, designing, and implementing community programmatic research and evaluation using an approach that is guided by Indigenous principles and practices, and influenced by developmental evaluation. Using a forward-thinking, story-centred approach to knowledge and data sharing, that centers the lives of people, land, and nature, EOED Program Evaluator will be supporting new and exciting work that is unique and highly emergent in the field of evaluation.

**Position**: Program Evaluator Every One Every Day (EOED) Kjipuktuk/Halifax

**Reports to**: EOED Assistant Director

**Location**: Halifax, Nova Scotia

**Applications Close: Thursday May 9 at 9am**

**Interviews**: To be scheduled between May 15-17, 2024

**Starting Date**: Tuesday June 4, 2024

Our approach to evaluation integrates Indigenous knowledge systems with methods drawn from developmental evaluation practices. This dualistic approach to evaluation offers a more inclusive and comprehensive way of thinking about, designing, and conducting research and provides unique contributions to solving important problems. An important part of this role is to support team members in evaluative thinking and developmental evaluation methods, and engaging community members in meaningful data collection and story-sharing.

The Program Evaluator will work closely with EOED’s Assistant Director to continually refine and implement our evaluation approach; One that focuses on strengths, recognizes challenges, considers broader social and economic conditions, and starts from an understanding of the broader context of systemic, recurring, and intergenerational trauma. They will be an excellent data collector with a strong knowledge of data analysis techniques that best serve programs with demographically diverse participation. They will know how to interpret data, write reports from their inferences, and create actionable recommendations to broaden the scope of knowledge or solve specific research problems.

**About You**:
You are an experienced evaluator who enjoys both leading and supporting participatory approaches and methods. You are engaging and respectful in your curiosity and can draw from the wisdom and support networks around you to connect impact themes and provide guidance.

You are empathetic, inviting, and trustworthy with confidential information.
