**THE ROLE**:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the **Junior Financial Analyst** will assist with month-end close, financial reporting, variance analysis, and supporting the budgeting & forecasting process.

**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**:

- Develops a strong understanding of our existing financial processes and systems
- Builds relationships and fosters collaboration within all areas of the company, including operations and leadership
- Applies internal policies, controls and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Prepares and submits general ledger journal entries for approval
- Performs detailed account reconciliations and analysis of operational data
- Prepares trending and budget variances for divisional performance
- Designs and monitors performance against key performance indicators
- Investigates and resolves financial discrepancies in the accounting records
- Challenges the status quo and constantly looks for continuous improvement opportunities
- Contributes to the preparation of consolidated financial statements, in accordance with Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), and related note disclosures
- Provides external audit support and investigates related inquiries as needed
- Plans, manages and delivers on multiple projects simultaneously within agreed timelines
- Additional and alternative responsibilities that may be changed from time-to-time

**WHAT YOU'LL NEED**:

- 1 - 2 years’ experience in a related role
- Diploma or university degree in finance or accounting
- Process-oriented with a logical mindset, using reasoning consistently deliver supportable conclusions
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with an ability to analyze and interpret high volumes of financial data
- Possess the ability to work alongside all levels in Finance, the Operations and external service providers
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Superior planning and organization skills to independently prioritize work within agreed timelines
- Proven ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment, deal with ambiguity and affect change
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and SharePoint
- Experience in the mining industry, project accounting, and internal controls would all be considered assets
- Very occasional travel required - valid Driver's License and ability to travel to different site locations (KM reimbursement offered)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
