**Your Role**

We are looking for a diligent Estimator/ Assistant Project Manager to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. An Estimator/ Assistant Project Manager plays a crucial role in managing subcontractors and obtaining quotes for a job, building, and enhancing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. As a key member of the team, you will be committed to maintaining a healthy and safe work environment for all our team members through hands-on, field-based collaboration with management and workers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the Project Manager and manage Sub-trade costs and schedule.
- Ability to function as a APM and a Cost Estimator.
- Work with Superintendent, to mitigate extras and keep project on schedule.
- Negotiate with subcontractors to reach favorable terms and pricing while ensuring that the quality of work remains high. This involves discussing scope, timelines, materials, and any other pertinent details.
- Integrate subcontractor quotes into the overall project cost estimation ensuring that the project stays within the budget while meeting quality standards.
- Preparing cost estimates of probable project costs on materials, equipment, and labor. Estimators base the calculations on quotations, schematic drawings, contract bids, and specifications.
- As construction estimators you need good communication skills to set up cost monitoring systems and reporting procedures.
- Assess tenders, conduct negotiations, and recommend awards.
- Make a directory of contractors, subcontractors, and mainly suppliers.
- Work hand in hand with project owners, engineers, contractors, and architects when conducting feasibility studies on adjusting cost estimates.
- During the project's lifecycle, prepare expenditure statements regularly to assess whether the project is on course.
- Determine along the way if the cost of the items is feasible to the owner.
- Participate in the identification and pursuit of prospective projects.
- Review technical Specifications and Drawings for pricing and scope review.
- Maintain and complete tender processes, including administrative tasks.
- Provide feasibility studies and assist with Business Strategies.
- Continuously update unit costs, labour rates, productivity factors and location impacts.
- Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference.
- Review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
- Effectively determine the bid strategies required for the company to be successful.
- Complete and/or lead the entire bid from the concept to completion of the tender.
- Identify the true cost of items (labour, material and equipment etc.) at every stage of the process.

**Required Qualifications**:

- A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Architecture, or a combination of education and industry experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating Civil projects in the value of $10-15M.
- Knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office with an aptitude for adopting new technology.
- Working knowledge of construction equipment/techniques, drawings/specifications, building material and required standards applicable to discipline.
- Proficient in Procore, AutoCAD, Revit, & 3Ds Max.
- Familiarity and understanding of construction contracts and scheduling and all phases of a construction project and building codes.
- Strong knowledge when it comes to understanding cost/sq ft per project Takeoffs.
- Strong understanding of overall project cost and budgeting.
- Ability to navigate specifications and plans.
- Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments at once.
