**The salary range for this position is**:
**Recruitment range: $70,137- $77,330** starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

**Performance range: starting salary to max of $91,214** is available through annual performance increases.

- Job SummaryThe Market Research Analyst is responsible for supporting and advancing a range of services related to the Division of Continuing Studies organizational analysis priorities, to facilitate data-informed decision making and future programming market research. This role will develop processes for collecting, reporting, visualizing, and analyzing data and other sources of information on a wide range of projects to support the advancement of new programming across the Division and University. Assisting with needs assessments and competitive-environmental scans to determine program viability is a key component of the role. Situated within the University of Victoria, Division of Continuing Studies, reporting to the Director, Program and Partnership Development, the Market Research Analyst collaborates, with colleagues throughout the Division as well as multiple campus stakeholders.
- Job RequirementsThis position requires an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Business, Statistics or a relevant field plus a minimum of five (5) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience should include:

- Demonstrated skill in researching and analyzing complex information.
- Prior experience in post-secondary educational environment is an asset.
- Proven experience in labor market research, educational program development or a related field
- Leading analysis studies and projects.
- Using data visualization tools e.g. Microsoft Excel, R, Python, D3, Tableau, Power BI
- Conducting both descriptive and inferential statistics.
- Training others in assessment practices for quantitative and qualitative approaches
- Ability to prepare concise, logical reports to present recommendations and solutions.
- Ability to translate data and statistics for different audiences
- Database software: e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL is an asset

Knowledge requirements should include:

- Project management best practices
- Trends in quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Research processes in an academic environment
- Data analysis and visualization
- Knowledge of research metrics in higher education

- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills for preparing reports, documentation, training and delivering workshops
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with diverse stakeholders and with all levels of university personnel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proven track record achieving project goals on time and producing deliverables of a high quality
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing the principles of truth, reconciliation and respect, equity diversity and inclusion, and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
