**Maintenance Field Employee (Summer Students)**

**Summary**

We are currently seeking for motivated and hardworking students to join our grounds maintenance team for the summer. These positions offer hands-on experience in various maintenance tasks and provide an opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team.

Tasks include lawn mowing, tending to flower beds, cleaning the grounds, and assisting with general cemetery operations. You will also have the opportunity to assist in constructing foundations for tombstones, repairing monuments, and other related tasks

**Tasks**
- Mow lawns using lawnmowers and automatic lawnmowers
- Maintain the grounds by weeding and trimming shrubs
- Ensuring cleanliness of the grounds by picking up debris and emptying waste garbage cans
- Assisting in road maintenance by filling holes and clearing pathways
- Help build foundations for tombstones, following supervisor's instructions
- Help repair monuments and maintain areas around graves
- Assist with the installation of ground markers and other specific projects
- Participate in building and chapel maintenance and cleaning, including window cleaning
- Maintain equipment, tools, and machinery
- Perform any other related duties as requested by supervisor

**Requirements and skills desired**
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (college or university)
- Experience in landscaping work or construction is an asset
- Experience using a bacho or heavy equipment is an asset
- Ability to comply with instructions
- Demonstrates rigour
- Ability to work in a team environment
- A valid driver's license and a clear driving record
- Recent and satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check processed by the Archdiocese.

**Job type**
- Fixed term: May 1, 2024, to September 1, 2024)
- Full-time Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, 7:30 am to 4:00 p.m. (including a 30 min unpaid lunch break).
- To meet specific needs, maintenance employees may be required to work Saturdays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

**Salary**

As per current collective agreement: $17.85/hr

Les tâches comprennent la tonte de gazon, l'entretien des plates-bandes, le nettoyage des terrains et le soutien aux opérations générales du cimetière. Vous aurez également l'occasion d'aider à la construction de fondations pour les pierres tombales, la réparation des monuments, et d'autres tâches connexes

**Description des tâches**
- Tondre le gazon à l'aide de tondeuses à gazon et de tondeuses à gazon automatiques
- Entretenir les plates-bandes en enlevant les mauvaises herbes et en taillant les arbustes
- Assurer la propreté des terrains en ramassant les débris et en vidant les poubelles
- Participer à l'entretien des routes en comblant les trous et en nettoyant les voies
- Aider à la construction de fondations pour les pierres tombales en suivant les instructions du superviseur
- Participer à la réparation des monuments et à l'entretien des espaces autour des tombes
- Assister à la mise en place de repères au sol et à d'autres projets spécifiques
- Participer à l’entretien et le nettoyage des édifices et de la chapelle, y compris le nettoyage des fenêtres
- Assurer l’entretien des équipements, des outils et de la machinerie
- Exécuter toute autre tâche connexe à la demande de son supérieur

**Profil recherché**
- Être actuellement inscrit à temps plein dans un établissement d'enseignement post-secondaire
- Expérience de travaux d’aménagement paysager ou de la construction est un atout
- L'expérience de l'utilisation d'un bacho ou d'un équipement lourd est un atout.
- Aptitude à respecter les consignes
- Sait faire preuve de rigueur
- Capacité à travailler en équipe
- Un permis de conduire valide et un dossier sans antécédents
- Vérification récente et satisfaisante des antécédents judiciaires effectuée par l'archidiocèse

**Conditions**
- Poste temporaire (1er mai 2024 au 1er septembre 2024) à temps plein du lundi au vendredi (40 heures par semaine, de 7h30 à 16h00 (incluant une pause diner non rémunérée de 30 minutes).
- Pour répondre à des besoins spécifiques, les employés d'entretien peuvent être amenés à travailler le samedi de 8h00 à 15h00.

**Salaire**_**:_ Selon la convention collective en cours : 17,85 $ de l’heure.
