The Agriculture department is looking for an experienced seasonal full-time Agricultural Assistant until approximately October 29th. We are seeking applicants who enjoy the public, possess excellent computer skills, and have exceptional communication and record-keeping skills.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Pick weeds in inaccessible areas and transport them to the incinerator at the landfill site
- Assist with placing and monitoring 1) Bertha Army Worm; 2) Diamondback moth and 3) Wheat Midge traps
- Assist in planting and maintaining of Invasive Species Demo Site and other similar projects
- Organize and participate in the Weed Warrior program
- Assist with plant and soil sample collections
- Assist with Clubroot monitoring and sampling
- Assist with crop inspections for Pest and Disease issues
- Assist in organizing and participating in various County functions
- Carry out the crop inventory survey for the season

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A valid Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
- An interest in agriculture, particularly insects and diseases found in agriculture
- A strong work ethic
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Enjoy working in collaborative teams
- Willingness to find and catch different insects

The successful applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work.

This position is 40 hours a week Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with some weekends and evenings as required.
