St Thomas, Canada Insight Counselling Elgin Full time

Insight Counselling Elgin is seeking a qualified associate to join the practice as an independent contractor who can provide counselling services to both individuals and couples in person in St. Thomas, Ontario and online from the office or their home for clients throughout Ontario.

This person must have a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology or related field and be a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (Qualifying status is okay) and must be receiving regular outside supervision from a CRPO qualified supervisor.

The ideal clinician is trauma informed and attachment-based and has an interest in working with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy. Training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT externship, Core Skills) would be a significant asset. An interest in providing trauma therapy and in pursuing EMDR training would also an asset. The ideal clinician is committed to providing empathic and discerning therapeutic care and also to providing consistent, ethical, and timely communication to clients and colleagues. A demonstrated commitment to ongoing training and learning is also a necessary qualification.

Insight Counselling Elgin offers free access to the Jane app for scheduling, note-taking, and online sessions and takes care of all client billing and other administration duties as needed. Insight Counselling Elgin provides all necessary intake and consent forms and updates these forms as needed. While direction and training on the Jane app will be provided if needed, the ideal clinician will take pride in their organization and will be committed to staying on top of note-taking, client scheduling, and other administrative duties that may be necessary.

Insight Counselling Elgin offers 6 months of free advertising on Psychology Today for clinicians new to Psychology Today and assists in formulating a compelling and inviting write-up. The successful clinician will also be listed on our website. While hours are not guaranteed, this is a busy practice and new client inquiries are received regularly.

Insight Counselling Elgin offers a competitive session-based fee split. The clinician will be responsible for their personal HST filing (if applicable) and for individual income tax saving and filing. Insight Counselling Elgin can offer direction in this area, if needed. The clinician will also be responsible for securing his or her own practice liability insurance, but Insight Counselling Elgin can assist with advice on setting this up, if needed.

Comfortable, inviting, and convenient office space in St. Thomas is available for a mix of days, evenings, and weekends. The clinician may also conduct online counselling sessions from home after the home space is approved by Insight Counselling Elgin.

This is a one year contracted position with the option to renew and/or extend upon mutual agreement. It is the hope of Insight Counselling Elgin that this can lead to a long-term relationship that is beneficial for the clinician and the practice so that Insight Counselling Elgin can provide high quality and consistent care to clients.
