We are looking for a Mental Health Counsellor/Psychotherapist II to join our team at The Jacob Puddister Memorial Foundation on a part-time, contractual basis. Our charity provides mental health resources to youth in Newfoundland and Labrador. The counsellor chosen for this job would work between 16 hours a week (two eight hour shifts
- one evening) providing individual counselling to youth (ages 12-35) from our location at 65 Lemarchant Road.
Qualifications and Educational Requirement:
- Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.
- Registration with CCPA + liability insurance.
- A minimum of five years experience working in the field of counselling/therapy
- Experience working with youth (ages 12-35) an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of case management, case conferencing, treatment plan development, aftercare planning, client records management.
- Counselling qualifications and experience working in addictions.
- Must have a deep understanding of trauma-informed therapy and experience working with traditionally marginalized communities.
- Experience working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community with a working and expansive knowledge of queer theory.
- Must possess superior facilitation, crisis intervention, counselling and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a team.
- Must participate in on-site clinical supervision 1 hour/month.
- Administrative responsibilities of contacting and scheduling clients.
**Job Type**: Contract (16 hours of work 2 days/week with 5 clients scheduled per day)
**Salary**: $38-$45/hour depending on counsellor experience
