**About Us**:
The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres. The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students). Western's School of Occupational Therapy believes in the transformative power of occupation. Through a commitment to social justice, social inclusion, and health and wellbeing, faculty members and students engage in teaching, research and learning that creates positive change locally, nationally and internationally. Teaching and research in the School of Occupational Therapy is enhanced through a network of international and interprofessional collaborations that broadens the understanding of occupation and motivates students impact the world at individual and societal levels.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Master’s Degree in Health, Pediatric Physical Activity, or a relevant discipline
- PhD in a relevant discipline preferred

**Experience**:

- 5 years’ project management experience in qualitative and quantitative research
- Experience preparing and monitoring research budgets
- Experience in preparing research budgets and monitoring accounts preferred
- Experience conducting interviews for research preferred
- Experience managing and collaborating on international research projects preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- In-depth knowledge of techniques for planning, managing, and coordinating projects, with competing priorities that involve a variety of stakeholders
- Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research in an academic environment
- Ability to ensure expenditures and resources are within allotments, and to make appropriate modifications when required
- Demonstrated strong expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Ability to read in French preferred
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit
- Communication skills with the ability to converse with, write reports for, and deliver presentations to all levels of the organization
- Verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Project management skills to align projects with strategic goals and operational objectives, ensure team roles are clear, milestones are communicated, and deadlines are met
- Ability to provide solutions and ideas for improvement by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required
- Ability to draw on diversity of skills, backgrounds, and knowledge of people to achieve more effective results
- Ability to ensure confidentiality and privacy is maintained through the appropriate retention and destruction of information
- Ability and willingness to employ a consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues and making decisions
- Ability to handle details with a high degree of accuracy and to organize and prioritize a high volume of work to meet deadlines
- Professional manner, tact, diplomacy, and discretion in dealing with various stakeholders and colleagues, including senior management
- Ability to evaluate issues, recognize potential problems and act to proactively resolve issues
- Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful, and diplomatic manner
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and ccomputer skills with statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, NVivo)
