**Corporate Development, Applied Research and International (CDARI) **is SAIT’s face to industry. Our instructors and staff are passionate about student and instructor success, in an environment that values applied academic excellence, teamwork, collaboration and driving innovation. Our non-credit courses are aligned to industry and designed to meet the needs of employers today and in the future.

The division centralizes and supports industry clients to develop customized non-credit corporate training for their employees and take their innovative product and process ideas to market locally, nationally and internationally. Within CDARI sits a number of support functions including Business Operations, Continuing Education, International, Corporate Training, Applied Research, and Business Intelligence.

CDARI is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to support students through a Software Development program for SAIT corporate client Manpower-TECHCareers. The program provides students with an opportunity to explore a problem or issue presented by an organization and address the problem or issue through applied research.

**The Course**:

- Course - CPRG - React.js Web Development - Focus on coding within React.js
- Dates - Monday March 13 - Monday March 20, 2023
- Times - 8:00am-3:00pm
- Modality - Classroom delivery

**Role**:

- Collaborate with student groups and Industry partners to determine project needs and resources.
- Provide on-going support to students and Corporate partners to produce project deliverables that meet industry standards.
- Provide guidance and support to insure the project outcomes are successful.
- Maintain records for the purposes of grading, assessing professionalism and tracking attendance
- Manage the classroom or lab to ensure a positive learning environment
- Show personal interest in the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learning
- Provide on-going support, guidance and advice to students
- Attend all SAIT training as required
- Achievement of School initiatives and Objectives
- Be an active and engaged member of the School
- Adhere to all safety legislation, guidelines and safety standards as required
- Maintain contact with relevant industry sectors
- All other duties as required for the position

**Qualifications**:

- ** Required**:

- Post secondary diploma or degree in Software Development
- 3-5 years of experience in Software Development
- Experience in Software Development utilizing HTML, CSS, ASP.NET Core, JavaScript, and React.js
- Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Experience with videoconferencing technology (MS Teams, WebX, Skype or Zoom)
- Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
- Comfortable speaking to the public
- Positive & respectful attitude
- Ability to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculum
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to organize and present written information

Desired**:

- Previous experience working with Manpower-TECHCareers
- Experience working with students to deliver Capstone Projects is considered an asset
- Experience with a Learning Management System (Brightspace or Moodle is an asset)
- Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentals
- Formal training or education in facilitation or teaching
- Formal training in online technologies
- Experience with curriculum development or instructional design
- **Manpower Alberta** partnered with **SAIT** to launch **TECHCareers**, a no cost government-funded program designed to help unemployed or marginally employed individuals develop the skills to seek employment as a Software Developer.
