Kitchener, Canada G & B Cable Contracting Inc. Full time

**G&B is looking to add to our constantly growing team a Health and Safety Coordinator providing the below skills.**

**Conduct monthly job site inspections**

**Participate in all safety investigations**

**Schedule and host quarterly JHSC meetings**

**Review and update H&S policies annually**

**Schedule and oversee fire extinguisher annual inspections and first aid kit quarterly inspections**

**Oversee paperwork tracking - daily safety talks, supervisor weekly inspections, near miss reports, incident reports, first aid reports etc.**

**Encourage and promote health and safety on job sites, in the shop and in the office**

**Participate in any potential WSIB claims and return to work program**

**Communicate with the MOL as a company representative when required**

**Keep employee training documentation up-to-date**

**Schedule or facilitate appropriate H&S training courses**

**Act as a point of contact for employee and management H&S concerns**

**Supports company operations by tracking projects from beginning to end. Duties would include**:
**Identify in coming projects and funneling all relevant documentation / information to appropriate Project Manager, includes but not limited to printing of Plans / Permits and other necessary documents**

**Track each project as it progresses through all stages of completion**

**Submission of various Change Management tickets as directed by Project Managers**

**Getting Regional / City Permits where required**

**Ability to communicate with outside staff when needed**

**Able to create and interpret spreadsheets for various project types**

**Navigating job tracking programs required by G&B's business partners**

**The following skills are needed;**

**Promoting process improvement**

**Informing others**

**Reporting skills**

**Minimum 1-2 years of professional Health and Safety experience**

**Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry**

**Education in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred**

**Sound understanding of current OHSA legislation**

**Solid understanding of various construction tasks, tools and equipment as it relates to health and safety best practices**

**Must be a highly effective and confident communicator, both written and verbal**

**Proficient with computers (Microsoft Office)**

**Strong attention to detail**

**Must be safety conscious**

**Legal right to work in Canada**

**Willingness to learn and progress as company grows.**

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
