Accounts Assistant

**Responsibilities**:
- Generate accurate and timely invoices for clients based on project specifications and contractual terms.
- Review invoices for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company policies.
- Follow up with clients regarding outstanding payments and coordinate with
the Head of finance and President for any payment-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments received, and outstanding balances.
- Respond to client inquiries and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as project managers and sales representatives, to ensure accurate
and timely invoicing.
- Assist in credit control activities by monitoring outstanding invoices and following up with clients for timely payments.
- Prepare and distribute regular reports on accounts receivable status to the head of finance and the President.
- Create and submit weekly MIS reports to the President of the company which includes SIC reports (sales, invoicing,
collections).
- Support the month-end closing process by providing necessary documentation and reports to the finance team.
- Assist in the weekly timesheet review & submission of on time reports to the payroll system.
- Assist in Generation of T4 for the employees.
- Coordinate with Maestro’s Canada CPA and their team if and when needed.
- Support in managing the invoice aging report.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and client information at all times.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices related to invoicing and collection processes.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role, with exposure to invoicing and collection processes.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with clients and
internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in the steel detailing or construction industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with Indian, US and Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations is advantageous.
- Should be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with residence in and around British Columbia, Canada.
