**What to expect**

As a Full-Stack Developer II at Verto, you will play a key role in collaborating with our front-line team to radically transform how healthcare is delivered through our digital twin platform. You will have the opportunity to work independently and in a team setting to transform user requirements into high-quality tech solutions for our clients. You will provide value to all stages of the software development lifecycle by being proficient in the following areas: the ability to learn and adapt to frequently-changing technologies, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, proficiency in demonstrating innovative thinking, and proficiency in team-based collaborations.

**Responsibilities**

**Software Development Lifecycle**
- Lead our development team’s agile practice and day-to-day activities (resourcing, assignment, and unblocking)
- Own the delivery of high-quality, concise, clean, tested, and well-documented code
- Maintain code branch management for all supported product lines

**Technical Leadership**
- Drive the architecture, engineering, and operations of our solutions with considerations for speed, cost, reliability, and scalability
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members of all levels
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand product and business needs to provide feedback and translate into technical requirements
- Contribute to product strategy and roadmap discussions

**Team/Function Management**
- Take on the Technical Manager role in projects to understand and manage the timeline, scope, architecture, operational, business, and security risks of concurrent projects
- Assist with career planning and performance management of the team by providing clear feedback on a regular basis through regular technical 1:1s
- Lead the development and delivery of strategic or operational initiatives to help support our development team operations as we scale
- Help us maintain and scale our collaborative development practices and developer experience

**Communication**
- Assist project managers by providing technical details on project stories and self-manage completion, asking thoughtful questions to ensure the right problem is being solved
- Proactively update stakeholders (e.g. management, development team, product) on project status to ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables

**Qualifications, knowledge, and experience**
- College Certificate/Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science
- 4+ years of experience coding for production-level code bases
- Proficiency (or confidence in picking up) the following:

- Languages: Python, Ruby, HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Frameworks: Rails, Flask, Angular, React Native, Vue.js
- Testing: RSpec, Cypress, pytest
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch
- 3+ years of Experience with operations work including:

- Docker & Kubernetes
- Automation (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform)
- Cloud Services (e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP)
- CI/CD (e.g. testing & deployment pipelines)
- Previous experience acting as Development Lead on a project with at least 5+ reports and conducting Technical 1:1s
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional development initiatives with experience coaching and mentoring engineering team members
- Previous experience working in the healthcare industry is a bonus
