We are currently seeking a dedicated Yard Inspector to join our Ferrous Department and contribute to our mission of responsible metal recycling. The Yard Inspector will play a critical role in overseeing the inspection and quality control processes.

This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm and 12:00pm-9:00pm rotation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing ferrous materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Identify and segregate non-conforming materials, such as contaminants or prohibited items, and take appropriate corrective actions
- Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to measure and verify the weight, dimensions, and composition of ferrous materials
- Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate the movement and storage of ferrous materials within the yard
- Communicate and report any deviations from quality standards, safety concerns, or operational issues to the supervisor or appropriate personnel

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of ferrous metals, their properties, and common contaminants or impurities
- Familiarity with relevant tools and equipment used for measurement and inspection, such as scales, callipers, magnet testers, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform accurate and precise inspection
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and moving heavy objects
