**REGIONAL OPERATIONS MANAGER**
**Montreal, QC or Ottawa, ON (remote-based)**
The **Regional** **Operations Manager** will be responsible for the profitability and operational standards of all corporate owned hotels, with a focus on assigned hotels within the company’s portfolio. The **Regional **Operations Manager** will also be responsible, in partnership with the corporate operations team, for the development and leadership of a well-rounded hotel team.
This position will be a combination of home-based and hotel-based until a permanent office in the region is developed. This role requires up to 40% travel and the ability to communicate fluently in English and French.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Leadership**
- Provide leadership and direction in the development, execution, and measurement of guest service standards within the Hotel Division consistent with the company’s core service standards.
- Ensure hotel and service standards are met and hotel management team is delivering consistent quality that meets or exceeds the expectations of ownership, brand and guest’s needs.
- Work with senior department leader and COO to ensure a consistent brand message is communicated amongst hotel portfolio.
- Have the knowledge to work all departments of a hotel and be prepared to jump in to help or perform General Manager duties from time to time
- Work alongside senior department leader to provide leadership in the development and monitoring of fiscal budgets and strategies to produce both short-term and long-term profitability.
- Develop and implement strategic plan and vision in partnership with the operations team consistent with the Company’s strategic vision for assigned portfolio of hotels.
- Work closely with General Managers, senior department leader and Human Resources to develop overall skills/growth (bench strength). Demonstrate leadership and coaching experience, promoting and developing team-oriented philosophy, stressing the importance for providing unparalleled commitment to excellence in service.
- Promote a culture of effective communications, service excellence, teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, employee satisfaction and diversity.
- Organize staff and resources, delegate tasks and coordinate multiple functions to accomplish established objectives most effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct operational reviews with General Managers in assigned region to discuss and evaluate guest satisfaction scores, budget forecast, marketing initiatives, and sales production against established goals.
- Work alongside assigned region General Manager team, Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing team and senior department lead to ensure budget revenue and profitability targets and owner’s expectations are met or exceeded.
- Travel to hotel locations is required, travel will consist of 30-40% of the role.
**Financial**
- Assist in the preparation of monthly/annual departmental budget/forecast and provide supporting documentation for COO/senior management’s review, when necessary.
- Develop pre-opening budgets and business plans for each new hotel in assigned region
- Work with RevMax team to develop and implement effective rate strategies for the market
- Support development team in establishing pro forma budgets / forecasts and hotel design in assigned region
- Review vendor agreements to ensure cost effectiveness and negotiation on the hotels’ behalf
**Marketing, Research and Development**
- Participate in the research, development, evaluation, and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure assigned hotel portfolio a competitive position in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic environment.
- Work alongside General Managers and Revenue Management to implement necessary rate changes to maximize hotel revenues. Closely monitor occupancy, rates and demand forecasts, making recommendations concerning current and future rates for assigned portfolio.
- Research and analyze existing data and trends and take action to reduce costs and increase hotel revenues whenever possible.
- Participate in developing marketing strategies to increase volume and market share; investigate potential opportunities for incremental revenue whenever possible.
**Customer Service**
- Ensure adherence to customer service standards within established departmental policies and procedures. Evaluate and correct/modify systems and structures that create problems or impede commitment to excellence in service
