**Job Overview**:
**Wage**:$18/hr depending on experience
**Schedule**: Part-time hours on a varying schedule. The Main is open from 8am-3pm seven days a week with plans to extend hours into the evening several days a week.
**Responsibilities**:
- Food Preparation:_
- Prepare menu items and retail products according to recipes provided, using fresh and seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms.
- Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in adapting dishes based on ingredient availability and seasonal changes.
- It’s important to us that everything we sell is made from scratch whenever possible.
- Quality Control:_
- Ensure consistency in flavour, presentation, and portion sizes across all menu items.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation, conducting regular taste tests and visual inspections of dishes.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards in all aspects of food handling and preparation.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff and front of house staff to ensure prep is completed efficiently and service runs smoothly.
- Work with management to ensure that regular inventories are completed and order lists are submitted on time.
**Qualifications**:
- Solid cooking skills with experience working in a kitchen in a cafe, restaurant, or similar setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
**Education and Experience**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ontario food handler’s certification
- Smart Serve Certification preferred
- Culinary training or relevant experience is preferred but not required.
