**Communications & Marketing Specialist**

**Reports To**

Chief Administrative Officer

**Summary**

Reporting directly to the CAO, the Communications & Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the development, management and coordination of the Municipality’s internal and external communications programs. This position will develop and implement a multi-faceted marketing and communication strategy including, but not limited to, planning and creating engaging and informative content such as video, presentations, website, social media and written literature.

**Requirements**:

- University or College degree in communications, marketing or equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
- Experience in business writing, photography, photo editing, video editing and the creation of communication and marketing materials;
- Skill and experience in editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, website

CMS, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), social media management tools (Hootsuite, Later, Buffer);
- Experience in working with the public, with a commitment to high standard of customer service;
- Experienced in Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, data base and web-based programs;
- An understanding of the community engagement process;
- Ability to work independently and to complete necessary tasks;
- Ability to manage a wide range of tasks;
- Class 5 Driver’s License.

**Job Duties**
- Develop and coordinate media releases and promotional materials including print and non-print materials;
- Develop and maintain an engaging online presence, manage content for the Municipal website, and other social media platforms;
- Creates and assists with social media messaging, responses to residents and coordinate other internal and external partnerships as needed;
- Assists departments with providing onsite photography and videos to promote programs and special events and coordinates with departments on larger video projects;
- Continue efforts to increase registrants for All-Net Connect message system;
- Development, delivery and evaluation of internal and external communication and marketing strategies, materials, campaigns and projects.
- Work collaboratively with all departments and local groups to develop communication and marketing strategies on a project basis or as needed;
- Develop and manage the community engagement process on a project basis or as needed;
- Plan, write, edit and review content for a variety of internal and external communication mediums including an annual report, marketing materials, media briefings, brochures etc. for production in both print and digital formats;
- Manage the Municipality’s brand ensuring consistency;
- Develop a marketing budget that supports ongoing marketing strategies;
- Represent the Municipality at various community, regional and provincial programs and events;
- Shall perform related work and duties, as required.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

**Salary**: From $24.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- St. Adolphe, MB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- public relations: 1 year (preferred)
