**The Opportunity**

Reporting to the President & CEO, as the Business Relationship Specialist, your exceptional professionalism and communication skills are utilized to ensure that potential, new, and existing clients needs are proactively addressed. Drawing on your knowledge, broad range of abilities, and positive personality traits, your focus will be to generate, facilitate, and foster loyal relationships with all potential and existing buyers. Your ability to understand the market, effectively address client inquiries, resolve issues, build relationships, develop strategies and provide ongoing personalized assistance to clients will contribute to your success.

**Responsibilities**

A relationship specialist is tasked with various roles and responsibilities, encompassing both client and internal department interactions. Some of these roles and responsibilities include:

- Establishing positive, meaningful, trust-based, long-term client relationships through consistent engagement, understanding perspective, and personalized support.
- Assessing market trends, identifying opportunities to reach an exceed client’s expected targets.
- Ability to increase business through cross-selling of related products to existing clients.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders including actively listening and empathizing with their needs and concerns, establishing solutions and fulfilling on commitments
- Engaging positively with various departments including sales, marketing, logistics, and production to ensure the client’s requirements are satisfied.
- Research, understand and anticipate product market, market trends, and potential markets.
- Identify and initiate conversations with key client personnel to grow mutually beneficial, trustworthy client relationships.
- Ensure that task prioritization does not result in communication breakdowns between clients or internal departments
- Anticipating and collaborating with stakeholders to develop innovative promotional concepts

**Requirements**:

- Post secondary education in Business or Marketing related field is preferred
- 3 or more years previous sales experience
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
- Understanding of Horticulture/Agriculture considered beneficial
- Driven, enthusiastic, convincing attitude
- Multitasking ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency, set deadlines, and remain organized
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Access. Additional knowledge or previous use of Pipedrive also an asset
- Aptitude to comprehend and identify client requirements
- Able to identify key issues and creatively and strategically overcome challenges or obstacles
- Fluency in French is seen as a beneficial talent, however not required
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong desire to fulfill commitments and remain engaged with the clients while meeting targets and deadlines
- Proficiency in handling tasks autonomously
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Demonstrates the ability to uphold a professional demeanor while effectively communicating verbally and in writing
- Eligibility and willingness to travel within Canada and the US and potentially at times worldwide
