**Sistering **is a multi-service agency for at-risk, socially isolated women and trans people in Toronto who are homeless or precariously housed.** **Our harm reduction philosophy is a core element of all the work we do. We operate on a trauma-informed and relationship-based model. Our programs include a low-barrier 24/7 Drop In, Housing and Case Support, Harm Reduction, Peer Outreach, on-site Medical Clinic and Spun Studio social enterprise.

The Program Supervisor will oversee and support the day-to-day operations of the 24/7 drop-in facility at Sistering. This role involves providing supervision to a team of community support workers, peer harm reduction workers, and other partner service providers to ensure the delivery of services from a client-centered, trauma-informed, harm reduction, and anti-oppressive perspective.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Supervision**:

- Develop strong collaboration with Director of Program and Services, other Program Supervisors and Case Support Workers
- Develops strong collaborative operational evening/overnight team that works closely with the day team and kitchen
- Oversee and ensure that day to day tasks are completed, facilitate daily log meetings and ensure appropriate follow up is implemented
- Supervise Drop-In workers, peer positions created through participant employment opportunities
- Oversee appropriate crisis intervention, informal counseling, information and referral and participate as needed
- Provide debrief and skill building opportunities after critical incident with evening/overnight team
- Provide case management guidance and accessing resources for staff managing long stay participants
- Provide/organize practical support to women which may involve assisting with meal preparation, donations and facilitating the use of shower and laundry facilities
- Support front line staff in the supervision of volunteers and placement students
- Ensure the recruitment and training of all new staff in consultation with the Director
- Provide direction and coordination of team development needs and opportunities/initiatives
- Initiate training and improve areas of service where service does not meet standards and expectations
- Develop system and ensure that Drop-in space is well maintained and organized

**Administration**:

- Collaborate with Director in the development of operational policy, guidelines and tools for the effective operations of the drop-in
- Schedule relief staff as necessary
- Ensure the purchase and maintenance of program equipment and supplies
- Support the Director in the development and monitoring of the drop-in budget
- Manage the petty cash and cash equivalents for the evening/overnight shifts
- Work collaboratively with drop-in staff in program development and implementation to ensure seamless and responsive service
- Ensure log, service restrictions and other tools are developed and maintained to ensure smooth communication across shifts.
- Develop tools and support communication across teams and between programs
- Ensure the maintenance of program statistics and assist in the development and implementation of appropriate program evaluation tools that are consistently kept across the shifts
- In conjunction with the Director and other Program Supervisors, monitor and ensure the continued development of program policy and procedures
- Participate in staff meetings and agency committees

**Advocacy and Community Building**:

- Collaborate with service users to identify directions and methods for social change
- In partnership with service users, staff, Program Supervisors and Director develop a strategic advocacy plan for the year
- Develop and engage in advocacy in order to address systemic issues of homelessness and poverty. Develop other advocacy initiatives that best address day time clients’ needs and partner with the other staff.
- In partnership with other staff, build internal capacity by supporting staff to develop a critical analysis of social conditions and engage in advocacy accordingly
- In Partnership with Director and other Program Supervisors develop and maintain strong working relationships with other internal services and programs of Sistering.
- In Partnership with Director and other Program Supervisors, keep up to date on services and resources available as well as develop and maintain strong working relationships with community stakeholders

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in social work/social services/human services work or equivalent combined work/ lived experience
- Thorough understanding of and experience working in programs serving women with complex intersecting needs including homelessness, mental health issues, addictions and histories of trauma
- Strong understanding of and demonstrated commitment to harm reductio
