The Clinical Neurological Sciences (CNS) program provides patient-centred care to Acute Neurology and Neurosurgery patients. Specialty care within Neurology includes: Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuromuscular Disorders, Stroke Program, Regional Multiple Sclerosis Clinic, and Neuro-Critical Care.

CNS has 4 specialty units embedded within the service - Hyperacute Stroke Unit (HASU), Acute Stroke Unit (ASU), Neuro-Observational Care Unit located on the 7th floor, and the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) located on the 10th floor. A committed group of practitioners including nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, personal support workers, social workers, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, care navigators and pharmacists - work closely together to provide excellent patient care and enhance patient outcomes.

**Job Summary**:
The Clinical Manager on CNS will be involved in all aspects of managing a successful clinical unit focused on neurological disorders. The Manager will be involved in recruiting and retention of staff, quality improvement, performance development for staff, patient relations, adverse event management, access and flow for patients, and other activities. In addition, as a Regional Program the manager will be involved and engaged with Regional Partners to ensure patients receive neurological care in the correct bed.

Reporting to the Director, Clinical Neurological Sciences and Southwestern Ontario Stroke Network, the Manager, Clinical Neurological Sciences directs, controls and evaluates the delivery of department services. They are responsible for translating decisions of the program leadership into execution, by utilizing relationship management and working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the necessary outcomes. The Manager ensures their team and department operations are aligned with our mission, vision and values, while working together to successfully achieve our strategic objectives.

This role is accountable for day-to-day department activities, including the management of human and material resources, day-to-day staffing and scheduling, development and support of a healthy workplace, risk and utilization measurements, and facilitation of improvement initiatives and change management, while operating within approved operational budgets and financial guidelines and controls. A major focus of the role is fostering effective working relationships and networks within the team/unit and with other teams across the organization.

NOTE: this role is required to be on-call, evenings and weekends on a rotational basis
