**Allredi **is an industrial manufacturer and distributor with locations across the United States and Canada. For over 40 years, Manus has been a leading distributor of all types of abrasives and equipment for the sandblast, foundry, and building products industry. In 2019, the Company joined the Allredi North America Group expanding our reach to over 30 locations in Canada and the USA.

We are seeking a Sr Accountant who will be accountable for leading the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Team, the accuracy of the monthly/quarterly/annual financial results of the general ledger, as well as the design and operating effectiveness of controls.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Managing Edmonton Finance staff including the receptionist
- Collaborating with other provinces to coordinate finance activities
- Overseeing and directing A/R and A/P functions for the West
- Processing and paying on-line bills
- Proficiency in A/P credit notes and memos
- Collaborating with Ontario in management of Western banking activities
- Proficiency in monitoring/tracking bank activities for errors
- Monthly reconciliations of accounts and subledgers
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit schedules
- Support bi-weekly Payroll function
- Assist with the month and year-end close processes which include reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries
- Support tax remittance and filings including GST, PST, and SUT remittance preparation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with governing legislation and regulations
- Day-to-day transactional accounting
- Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of financial controls, including proactively offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes

**Skills**:

- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proactive with the ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Exceptional time management
- Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written

**Qualifications**:

- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Undergraduate or Advanced degree in Finance or Accounting
- Proficient in ERP systems. Experience **in sage is a plus**
- Accounting designation considered an asset
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze data from multiple systems
