Our diverse range of services include workplace training and career services, community volunteerism, IT training, Life Coaching, Speech courses, supported recreation, and residential services. Our clients include people from all walks of life and experience, looking to move ahead in employment, personal goals, or who just want to make connections and volunteer in their community. Our programs and services are open to people 16 years of age and older living with a disability, mental health needs, FASD, chronic illness, brain injury, or sensory impairment. We offer a unique range of options for individuals who may require support or transitional services.

Several of our community programs and services benefit from additional funding generated by the two Bottle Depot centers Cosmos operates in Red Deer and our recently opened Blackfalds location. All our depots support countless bottle drives for community charities and service organizations. We also have several drop box locations around the city for our customers’ convenience.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Provide job search services to individuals**
- Network, consult, and approach employers.
- Develop resumes, arrange job tours, job shadows, interviews, job analysis.
- Develop and facilitate employment proposals and work experiences.
- Provide entrepreneurship supports and refer to business planning services.
- Educate individuals in job search techniques and labor market trends.
- Advise individuals regarding person income supports (SFI, AISH, CPP, EI).

**Assist with client intake process**
- Inform individual of program expectations utilizing program manual and policies.

**Assist individuals to determine their educational and employment aspirations and aptitudes**
- Administer assessments.
- Identify need for external, formalized assessment services, arrange assessment meeting, and consult with individual and assessor following completion.
- Assist client and employer to purchase and set up equipment or tools for the individual.
- Research disabling condition associated with individual, share information with team and employers.
- Support individuals to make informed decision based on their work skills, interests and labor market.
- Complete file set-up, intake checklist, log notes, etc.
- Support Clients on the first few shifts of employment to transition them to the workplace.
- Work outside normally scheduled hours dependent on client’s employment shifts.

**Provide specialized training assistance to enhance and maintain work positions**
- Consult with clients, employers/co-workers to arrange training methods.
- Provide on-site support for clients, employer (i.e. tasks).
- Develop and ensure utilization of aids and worksite modifications.
- Perform actual tasks to determine expectations and understand standards expected from employer.
- Fade and develop natural supports within workplace.
- Determine need, facilitate off-site training and complete required paperwork (i.e. computer lab, mock tasks, and exposure courses).

**Provide personal adjustment supports outside of work environment**
- Provide support to individuals regarding personal issues that may impact the work situation.
- Assist individuals to problem solve and resolve transportation needs, residential concerns, budgeting issues, lifestyle concerns, Income Tax, Alberta Health Care concerns, etc.

**Education, Experience and Qualifications**:

- Diploma/Certificate in Human Services or equivalent.
- 1-3 years’ experience in a related field.

**Employment Conditions**:

- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Vehicle Insurance (2 Million)
- Reliable Vehicle
- First Aid and CPR certification Preferred
- Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention Training Preferred

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
