**Accounting Clerk**
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the job holder is responsible for the handling of day-to-day accounts receivable and payable activities.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Accounts Receivable:
- Daily posting of cash receipts
- Maintaining A/R - ensuring routine payments are received in a timely manner
- Account processing, reconciliations
- Effectively communicating with customers/accounts to solve payment discrepancies
- Ensuring statements are sent out in a timely manner
- In a backup capacity, support customer service team in answering phone calls, enquiries and creating sales orders
Accounts Payable:
- Review and analyze invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure payable paperwork is entered in a timely manner
- Organize cheque runs, credit card payments and petty cash expenses
- Handle vendor enquiries
- Work with Purchasing & Sales Department to resolve P.O. claims and price discrepancies
- Reconcile various vendor account balances
- Filing/scanning vendor invoices
- Assist with the month end process and other ad-hoc projects
**Qualifications**:
- Post secondary education in accounting preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with credit collections and accounts receivables
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with accounts payable and payment processing
- Accounting knowledge sufficient to perform journal entries
- Past experience with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise would be an asset

- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office programs
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure

**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
